MOCA GA / Calendar

This exhibition featured works from the MOCA GA Permanent Collection, selected by staff members who were born in the 1980s: Amy Johns, Eric Kaepplinger, and Shana Barefoot. The exhibition featured 47 works of art by 29 artists including drawings, paintings, printmaking, and more. Many works of art selected for Made in the 80scome from MOCA GA’s 250 piece Founding Collection.

ABOUT The Curators

Amy Johns (b. 1985 in Roanoke, Virginia) Amy was the Grants Manager at MOCA GA. An Atlanta-based photographer and arts administrator, Amy was raised in Virginia and relocated to Atlanta from Knoxville, Tennessee. She received her BFA in Media Art from the University of Tennessee and her MA in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design. 

Eric Kaepplinger (b. 1983 in Park Ridge, Illinois) Eric is the Head Preparator and Facilities Manager at MOCA GA. An Atlanta-based artist, Eric was raised in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and recently relocated to Atlanta from Chicago. He received his BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he concentrated primarily in painting and drawing. 

Shana Barefoot (b. 1983 in West Palm Beach, Florida) Shana was the Collections and Exhibitions Manager at MOCA GA. An Atlanta-based artist and arts administrator, Shana was raised in Lantana, Florida and relocated to Atlanta five years ago. She received her BA in Geography from Florida Atlanta University and her MA in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design.
