An accomplished artist, Hull was a graduate of University of Georgia, Athens specializing in Drawing and Painting. He received a Bachelor’s of Creative Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, 1979, along with numerous awards including, The Emerging Artist Grant from the Arts Council of Lower Cape Fear in Wilmington, North Carolina, 1995; the Merit Award for Juried Exhibition, Florida Image, Ponte Vera, FL, 1993 and the First Place Award for Lyndon House 10th Annual Juried Exhibition, Athens, GA, 1983. He was also Winner of the Big Art Competition, Atlanta Arts Festival, 1998. Hull’s exhibitions included Invocation of Mystery, Ariel Gallery, New York, NY 1990; Nexus Farewell, Nexus Contemporary Art Center, Atlanta, GA 1990; Surrealism Continued: Group Invitational Exhibition, Southeastern Center for Contemporary Arts, Winston-Salem, NC 1988 and Biennial, Nexus Contemporary Arts Center, Atlanta, GA 1987.
