A Selection of Artists from the MOCA GA Permanent Collection Who have been Recognized by the GANMWA
11am - 5pm
Since 1985, the Georgia Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (GANMWA) has advocated for Georgia Women artists. MOCA GA is pleased to celebrate this state-wide program created by the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA). In fact, Georgia was one of the first states who responded to the NMWA’s call to create a state-wide committee to champion women artists.
Highlights of the committee’s collaborative events over the years have included the Georgia Committee’s 1996 acclaimed exhibition 9 Women in Georgia; studio tours; 3 2 C (Three to See), a curated tour of private art collections; fundraising and placement of major works by Georgia women artists into the NMWA permanent collection; and inclusion of Georgia women artists in the NMWA exhibition programs “From the States” and “Women to Watch.”
The MOCA GA artworks included within this exhibition have been created by artists recognized through the collaborative events of the GANMWA.
