Welcome to the announcement of the 2020/2021 Working Artist Project (WAP) Finalists.

WAP is a year long fellowship program facilitated by The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA). The program was created by MOCA GA to champion established visual artists of merit who reside in the Atlanta metropolitan region. Each year a guest curator selects three of our best and brightest to receive a solo exhibition, promotion, a studio apprentice (in support of emerging artists in the Atlanta Community), a full-color catalogue, and a $15,000 stipend to create work over the course of the year.

WAP is supported through the Charles Loridans Foundation, The Antinori Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and The AEC Trust.

This year, Marcela Guerrero, Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York was chosen to serve as the 2020/2021 WAP Curator. She diligently examined each of nearly 100 applications before narrowing her selection down to a small group of talented semifinalists.  During the past week, Marcela and MOCA GA staff remotely visited the studios of these artists, allowing them to further discuss and impress Marcela with their thoughts and talents.  She was then charged with the task of narrowing her selections to the three finalists, revealed today.
