Development Internship

MOCA GA is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill our Development Intern position. The intern will provide administrative support while gaining a deeper knowledge and understanding of nonprofit operations. Interns receive a one-year membership to MOCA GA which includes free entry to exhibitions, openings, and more!

The Development Intern will work directly with and in support of MOCA GA’s Development Director to ensure MOCA GA makes its annual income goals. The Development Intern will learn skills including but not limited to: database management, website management, grant research, grant writing and editing, special events, virtual special events, event software, stewardship, and financial controls. Interns must commit to working 15 hours per week for 12 weeks and may be able to apply the internship for a school credit (check with your school for requirements). Must be 18 or older with reliable transportation and this is an unpaid position. 

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Must be available on the dates of fundraising events 
  • Research, graphic design, and database experience preferred

Principle duties and responsibilities 

  • Execute in depth research for possible grants for the organization
  • Research, record requirements, and maintain a calendar of upcoming grant deadlines 
  • Maintain historical records of grants 
  • Ensure that the requirements for the awarded grants are met 
  • Help design emails related to fundraising campaigns 
  • Organize the distribution of large mailing, including but not limited to the annual fund campaign, gala invitations, and art auction invitation 
  • Act as support for online special events 
  • Help organize MOCA GA’s fundraising databases 
  • Work with our ONE CAUSE software to design online fundraising events
