Sidney Guberman: Works on Paper

Sidney Guberman is an American artist who received his B.A. from Princeton University in 1958 and his graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967. He was also an architect until 1969, when he decided to paint full-time. In 1971, Guberman moved to Lausanne, Switzerland, where he lived for more than four years. During that time he taught painting, drawing, and color theory at Ecole Cantonale des Beaux Arts & Ecole Polytechnique Federale in Lausanne. He also kept a studio in an industrial section of Lausanne and continued to make paintings and works on paper. During the time in Switzerland, he had a dozen one-man exhibitions and was included in several group exhibitions. He returned to America in the fall of 1975. Since his first one-man exhibition at The Owen Gallery in Denver in 1970, he has been involved in over 70 solo and group exhibitions in the U.S., Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, and Germany. Guberman taught art at Princeton University, The University of South Carolina, and the Atlanta College of Art. His work is included in numerous private and public collections.
