Hybrid photography
Geoffrey Batchen: Photography is everywhere and nowhere in particular.”
Photography surrounds us and seems to be used for every purpose. In our post-medium fine art world, artists often choose to “draw,” “paint” or “sculpt” photographs. The photograph in no longer just a piece of paper exposed to light! Under the guidance of mixed-media artist Kelly Kristin Jones, workshop participants will discuss new methods to make photographs and the have the opportunity to construct their own photo-based collages and standing photo-sculptures.
Kids’ Class
Photography ALIVE
Artists aged 7 – 12 are invited to make 3D photographs with mixed-media artist, Kelly Kristin Jones. We will learn about some of the new ways artists are using photography to make new kinds of images. Jones will lead young artists (and their parents) in the creation of playful photo-sculptures. Cut, glue, and carve pictures to create standing objects to be enjoyed from all angles.
