As an abstract expressionist, Vincencia Blount (b. 1924 in Miami, FL – 2012) began painting in 1950. Though settled in Atlanta, Blount traveled extensively with a passion for archeological sites. These travels are thought to have often influenced her work. She graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her works are in collections at MOCA GA and the Morris Museum of Art (Augusta, GA).
