Lucy Currie earned her B.F.A. from the University of Georgia and her M.F.A. from the University of California. She received additional education at Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA), The Ringling School of Art (Sarasota, FL), The Atlanta College of Art (Atlanta, GA), and Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN). Moreover, Currie has studied with various artists, including Ben Smith, Jim Herbert, Frank Stella, Ben Shute and Katherine Mitchell. She has been awarded numerous grants and scholarships, including the Andy Warhol Scholarship and Travel Award, the Italian Government Scholarship, and a full fellowship from the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX. Currie’s paintings have been shown in California, Maine, Texas, Cortona, Italy, Pennsylvania, Florida, and extensively in Georgia. She has been featured in The New York Times and in New Art Magazine. In addition to several private collections, Currie’s work is included in MOCA GA’s permanent collection. She has exhibited alongside Benjamin Jones at the Swan Coach House Gallery.
