Biography

Educator and Printmaker, Jim McLean was born in Gibsland , LA in 1928. He received a B.A. in Education from Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now the University Southwestern Louisiana), in 1950, a Bachelor’s of Divinity degree in 1953 from Southern Methodist University ad his Master’s in Fine Arts from Tulane University in 1961 in Printmaking. McLean has exhibited extensively in group shows as well as, solo exhibitions. He served as Assistant Professor of Art and Associate Professor at La Grange College, La Grange, GA as well as Associate Professor of Art at Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA. Named Professor Emeritus of the School of Art and Design, McLean retired in 1994.
