J. Ivcevich has a B.A. in Sociology from Emory University. He spent 10 years as a music producer, DJ, and record label creative director while pursuing an independent art career. In 2001, after his first solo show of paintings, Ivcevich was awarded a Pollack-Krasner Grant and was featured on the cover of New American Paintings in both the Southeast and Northeast. In 2004, he moved to NYC in the pursuit of furthering his artistic legacy. Ivcevich has exhibited solo in Indianapolis, Washington, DC, Chicago,IL, Atlanta, GA and Memphis, TN. Collections of his work include the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, Atlanta, GA; the Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art, Jacksonville, FL and the Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile, AL. Group shows have included cities such as, New York, Berlin, Providence, San Francisco and Boston. In addition, Ivcevich has also been featured in several publications: Art Papers, NUVO, Creative Loafing and New American Paintings. The artist was born in 1971 in Ohio.
