David Ivie studied at the New York Studio School and received his B.F.A. from Atlanta College of Art in 1985. He also received a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia in 1991. Ivie’s solo exhibitions include the Elizabeth Harris Gallery, New York, NY; Sandler Hudson Gallery, Atlanta, GA; Bill Maynes Gallery, New York, NY and the Arthur Roger Gallery, New Orleans, LA. Ivie was featured among the artists in MOCA GA’s 2005 exhibition Accelerating Sequence: Artists Observe Time and Aging, one of his many group exhibitions to date. Ivie has received several awards and grants including a Rockefeller Foundation Residency at the Bellagio Study Center in Italy and a Tanne’ Foundation Award Grant, both in 2000. His work has been collected by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY; Ivie currently lives in London, England.
