Local artist and art critic, Carlyn Fisher is intrinsically tied to the artistic culture of Atlanta. Responsible for the Hambidge Center’s Fisher and Brena studios, the author, painter and design pioneer has been instrumental in cultivating Atlanta’s diverse artistic climate. As an organizer of art venues in the 1960’s and 70’s, Fisher’s involvement in Atlanta’s cultural scene is indicative of her dedication to the arts. She is a recipient of the National Endowement of the Arts and published “The Arts in Georgia,” which exemplifies her tireless commitment and enormity of art in the state of Georgia.
