Anderson grew up in Atlanta, GA, and has traveled extensively through the Middle East, Europe, and Central America. She received both her B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Georgia. She has held several teaching positions, including at the American InterContinental University in Atlanta and Kennesaw State University. In Anderson’s complex paintings, she combines theme and form, arriving at images with narrative fragments that challenge the viewer to create their own unique responses. Her works juxtapose isolated parts, such as hands and heads; birds, flowers, and animals are also utilized as fragments, suggesting a narrative or drama that is open to many interpretations. Anderson has had more than 50 solo exhibitions in the United States and Europe. Her work is in multiple collections, including the Springfield Museum of Art, Springfield, MO, the Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, FL, Montgomery Museum of Art, Montgomery, AL, and Coca Cola Headquarters, Atlanta, GA.
