Jeff Conefry is a painter whose work foundationally explores the objecthood of painting. Physical form and materiality are exploited in lieu of the pictorial aspects common to other work. He attended The Rhode Island School of Design, and graduated with honors from the University of New York at Purchase where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. He is currently in the Master of Fine Arts program at Hunter College in New York City. His work has been exhibited nationally including Bradbury Gallery, Arkansas State University, Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Georgia. He has been reviewed in ArtsAtl.com, Atlanta Journal Constitution, and Burnaway.com among others. His work has been published in New American Paintings and has received several grants and awards. His work can be found in many private and public collections. His work is represented in Atlanta by Marcia Wood Gallery. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
