“As an artist, I’m always chasing the organic shapes that emerge after applying layers of paint to the canvas. Often, I will go back and remove paint to reveal the undercoat. These organic shapes are highlighted to give an overall cohesive statement. I want the eye to travel both in and out of the canvas, as well as, across the surface-allowing the viewer escape into each piece.”
