2014/2015 Working Artist Project

The 2014/2015 Working Artist Project was selected by Siri Engberg, Senior Curator of Visual Arts at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.

About the Exhibition:

Jonathan Bouknight: Nightingales

Working with a cast of skilled performers, Jonathan Bouknight has created the film Nightingales, a durational meditation on one’s continual reach for ideals beyond physical limitations. Themes of metamorphosis, beauty, desire, and failure are explored within the earnest attempts of the performers to become something more than themselves. Created and shown in tandem with the film are a series of mixed-media works by the artist. Nightingales was created over the course of the year during Bouknight’s Working Artist Project fellowship with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia and was debuted at the museum.
