The gallery was devoted to black-and-white photographs by Jerry Siegel, who has captured Southern artists in this region for many years. It has been said that a camera is a passport to places one wouldn’t ordinarily go. In Siegel’s case, it was an entree to the worlds of artists he admired, a way to get to know them and learn more about their work. While he shot many formal photos of artists in their studios, others pictures capture them in unguarded moments.
