Draw@MOCA: Masud Olufani

Jul 16, 2016
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Threading through Memory

Threading through Memory is a workshop based project which will explore the ways in which materials can evoke personal and collective memory.  Through the use of disparate objects and materials coupled with a variety of image making techniques—collage; drawing; graphite rubbing; etc.—participants will examine how the mind draws connections between what we see and our lived experiences.  The workshop will include a brief memory meditation and a tour of Masud Olufani’s exhibition Poetics of the Disembodied.
