Event Rentals at MOCA GA

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia is housed within the TULA Art Center, originally a 1950’s factory, it is now a working art studio and exhibition space. Occupying 15,000 square feet of TULA, MOCA GA's Galleries I, II & III were renovated 2008 and have been the site for numerous private and corporate events. Availability. Comprising about 4,300 square feet, the Museum’s event space are located within the exhibition Galleries I, II & III (floor plan available for download HERE). MOCA GA is open to the public 10am - 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and as such, the exhibition galleries are only available for rent after business hours and anytime on Sundays and Mondays when the Museum is closed to the public.

	Types of Events. This exciting, versatile venue with an ever-changing background of art has been shown to be an excellent choice for small weddings, wedding receptions, bar mitzvahs, engagement parties, book signings/launches, award ceremonies, corporate dinners, cocktail parties, poetry readings, chamber music recitals, and CD release parties.

Cost of Rental. The rental fee ranges from $800 to $3200 depending on the type of event and the number of attendees. Discounts may be available depending on the event. Rate quotes are for a 7-hour event including set up and breakdown. Additional hours are charged at $250/hour. The quoted rate includes the cost for two MOCA GA staff members for the entire event. Additional security, valet parking, etc. will be extra.

The Museum has available for rent: 60 chrome and black metal chairs, one 8-foot and five 6-foot tables with black cloths, pedestals in various sizes, and 18” painted white or black wood cubes. A rate sheet for these items is available on request.

	Capacity. In Galleries I & II approximately 150-200 people can be accommodated for a seated dinner, depending on the set up. For stand-up cocktail parties, the galleries can accommodate 250-300 people.

Contract and Deposit. All renters are required to sign a contract. Fifty percent (50%) of the rental fee and a separate $500 refundable damage deposit are due at the time of the receipt of the signed contract. The remaining fees are due at least two (2) weeks before the event. Because MOCA GA is a museum, there are special restrictions regarding decorating and food which must be observed. Please read the contract carefully and discuss your event fully with MOCA GA Event Coordinator, Martha Brewer.

Caterers. Self-catering is not permitted. Renters may use any properly licensed and insured caterer and a list of recommended caterers is available. A Certificate of Insurance from the caterer must be provided by the caterer prior to the event.
